Lynn Kellogg Simpers will be inducted into the Appleton West Hall of Fame on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The following is what the Hall of Fame committee has chosen to display in her honor.
Show business fixture for several generations, initially performing in late-60's on TV and Broadway and later recognized with Emmy and Peabody awards as well as membership in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Listed in the Playbill as Lynn Kellogg, she originated the lead role of Shelia in Broadway's 1968 musical "Hair" and is known for performance of songs such as "I Believe in Love" and "Let the Sun Shine In".
Prior to Broadway, she appeared in episodes of several TV dramas, and later, concurrent with major supporting movie roles, as a vocalist on musical tours including entertaining Vietnam War troops. Her guest performances on TV and her recordings were well reviewed.
In the late 1970's-80's adding her husband's surname, she developed and produced children's content for TV, as well as performing in shows. Most recognized was award winning "Animals, Animals, Animals" for its children's informational focus. She also did extensive work in Christian programming.
With a career that knew no limits, she took the well-honed skills of her youth and from multiple venues of stage and screen entertained the world with boundless energy, skill, and creativity.
