Catherine Ebert-Gray, West Class of 1973

Catherine Ebert-Gray will be inducted into the Appleton West Hall of Fame later this month.

After graduating from Appleton West, Catherine Ebert-Gray earned bachelor's degrees in international relations and political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Later she received a master's degree in national resource management from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.

Catherine has served in many overseas postings with the United States Foreign Service, as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Administration's Office of Logistics Management, and as the United States Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. Ambassador Ebert-Gray has strengthened bilateral relationships, promoted international governance, supported U.S. investment overseas, and created warm personal ties and international friendships.

"I have always been proud to call Appleton my hometown," Catherine said. "That pride was fervently adopted by my family, who after years of living overseas, are really excited to return with me to see AHS-West, experience the roar of Lambeau Field, and re-explore the charms of mid-town America."

Catherine currently serves as Director of Global Education for the University of Colorado Denver.
